Falcos career in pictures
In
school Johann Hoelzel from Vienna shone through bad marks in music
and too big laziness, so his teachers prophesied him a bad end.
Today this at February, 19, 1957 in Vienna born Hansi is the No.
1 of Austria export-articles in matters pop-music under the brand
name Falco and currently the only world-star of the Alps republic.
The lordly man from today was one of the first misunderstood
punks in Vienna in the early times of his career. Hansi, his parents
had separated as he was eleven years old, grew up with his mother
and rocked in moist cellars with the spouting viennese scene which
modelled itself on the English punk revolution. Disappointed from
Vienna, Hansi in 1977 disappeared to Berlin, that was very announced because
of presence from superstars like David Bowie or Lou Reed at that
time. But also here the viennese came to nothing, only to his until
today formative pseudonym . In admiration for the skier from GDR
Falko Weisspflog who he saw jump in television, the Hoelzel Hansi
renamed himself in Falco and came back to Vienna in 1979 again.
There, he developed properly a creativity shove, registered
as bass player at the conservatory of jazz, established the 1st
viennese music theater from which became the Hallucination Company
and changed in 1980 as bass player and songwriter to the desolate
action squad 'Drahdiwaberl', for which he also arranged the cult
song *Ganz Wien * that was forbidden to play by radio or television
in austria. The eccentric Falco quickly noticed that he had to conform
to much in the group and managed in 1981 with the recitative *Der
Kommissar* the big throw in Europe and USA.
1984, Falco tried
himself in selective, madly arranged rocking studio sound on his
second LP *Junge Roemer * . Although outstanding music and lyrics
where offered, the public turned away of Falco and also the following
single in duet with Desirée Nosbusch *Kann es Liebe sein*
didn't ignite.
First in 1985, with active help from the dutch
brothers Rob and Ferdi Bolland, Falco succeeded the total world
hit with *Amadeus * . With the ambiguous ballad *Jeanny * Falco
pushed a media duration burner after, that finally heaved him into
all headlines. Also the film discovered the smart Viennese with
the energy of a playboy and after small roles in the formula one
film and the joke strip from Mike Krueger *Money or liver *, the
scripts pile up on his desk.
But privately the luck seems to
avert itself from Falco . Beginning of September his longtime companion
Isabella had the nose fully of Falcos antics and many trips and
left with the common little daughter Katharina Bianca Falcos apartment
. The falcon remains iron like so often : He apparently knows exact
what he wants and leaves through nothing plans once discourages.
After the tour trough europe (start in Germany at October, 18.in
Munich) with the new LP *Emotional * in the baggage, the master
disappears with his troupe over the big pond about spraying
his charm in the country of the unlimited possibilities.
